Athlete Participation Agreement

This Athlete Participation Agreement is accepted by every athlete who creates a Varsity Engine profile and, for athletes under 18, is acknowledged together with the parent or legal guardian. It describes the expectations, responsibilities, and standards of conduct required to participate on the Platform, and forms part of the Varsity Engine Legal Manual alongside the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines.

You must provide accurate eligibility information, including your school, sport, graduation year, and date of birth. Athletes under 18 may participate only after a parent or legal guardian completes the guardian consent process and identity verification. You are responsible for complying with the eligibility, amateurism, and transfer rules of your school, your athletic association, and, where applicable, the NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA.

You agree to represent yourself, your family, your team, and your school with honesty and good sportsmanship. You will treat other athletes, coaches, officials, staff, and fans with respect, and will not engage in harassment, discrimination, threats, hazing, or demeaning behavior. Conduct on the Platform is also governed by the Community Guidelines, and off-Platform conduct that affects the safety or integrity of the community may be considered.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile, including stats, measurables, academic details, and biographical information. Only statistics entered by verified school representatives carry the Official badge; self-reported figures must be truthful and clearly represent your own performance. Knowingly submitting false or misleading information may result in removal of content, loss of verification, or account termination.

You confirm that you hold all rights and permissions necessary for any photo, video, highlight clip, or audio you upload, and that your uploads comply with the Copyright Policy. Do not upload media that includes other individuals, particularly minors, without appropriate consent, or that contains unlicensed music or third-party content. You retain ownership of media you create and grant the license described in the Terms of Service.

Varsity Engine helps you be discovered by college programs but does not guarantee offers, scholarships, roster spots, or responses from any coach, and is not an agent, advisor, scout, or representative acting on your behalf. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you share, for conducting yourself professionally in all communications, and for following the recruiting, contact-period, dead-period, official- and unofficial-visit, and amateurism rules that apply to your sport, class year, and division. If you are under 18, recruiting communication requires guardian and school approval, and your guardian retains oversight of which programs may engage with you. Do not accept improper benefits, share false information, or agree to move recruiting conversations to private channels that remove Platform safeguards. Every introduction is recorded and time-stamped for compliance and safety, and you should independently verify any offer, financial-aid term, or commitment before relying on it. Recruiting decisions and outcomes rest solely with you, your family, and the institutions involved.

Protect your personal contact information and share it only with programs you choose to connect with. Report any inappropriate, abusive, threatening, or suspicious contact through the Platform's reporting tools, and do not respond to requests to move a conversation to private channels that remove Platform safeguards. If you are under 18, keep your parent or guardian informed of recruiting communications; guardians retain oversight of a minor's account and messaging. Never share another person's private information, and be thoughtful about what you post, since profile content and media may be visible to college programs, media, and the public. If you ever feel unsafe or believe someone is misrepresenting their identity, stop communicating and contact the Company and, where appropriate, a trusted adult or law enforcement. The Company may act on safety reports, including removing content or accounts, but is not responsible for the off-Platform conduct of other users.

Varsity Engine may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, restrict features, or revoke verification if you violate this Agreement, the Terms of Service, the Community Guidelines, or the Copyright Policy, submit inaccurate or fraudulent information, or engage in conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the Platform. Depending on severity, the Company may act with or without prior notice, and may take interim measures, such as hiding a profile, while a report is reviewed. Where appropriate, violations may be reported to your school, your athletic association, or the appropriate authorities. Certain obligations, including accuracy of information, conduct standards, and the licenses you have granted for content already published, survive suspension or termination. If your account is terminated, your right to use the Platform ends immediately, and the Company is not liable for any resulting loss of visibility or recruiting opportunity. If you believe an action was taken in error, you may contact the Company to request review.
